York Kia employee Heck Linebaugh celebrates 60 years with the company

If you have ever bought a car or serviced a car at York Kia then you have probably met Heck Linebaugh. The 81 year old man has been working for our company ever since he was 21!

His job description has changed over the years but one thing remains the same... each and every morning you will see his smiling face with his signature sleeves rolled up doing his duties.

The ownership over the years has changed also. Then known as Weist Motor Co., Linebaugh started his career in 1953. In 1961 Weist moved its operation the present location on Roosevelt Avenue in York.

Current owner Don Meluzio build the company in 1981 and has owned it ever since. "It is amazing to think that when I bought the dealership over 30 years ago Heck already had been working there for three decades!"

Here is perhaps the most amazing part of his story. In all the years He has worked there he has only had to miss work once... and that was due to a gall bladder surgery! Linebuagh's mother lived to be 94 and Heck says he doesn't have plans on slowing down any time soon.

You can check out the staff at York Kia on their website. Who knows, maybe you will see someone on there that you recognize from when you bough your last car there.

Comic book inspired Kia vehicles highlight partnership with DC Entertainment

The 2013 San Diego Comic-Con was a huge event as always. DC Entertainment, together with Kia Motors America, unveiled the final vehicle in their fleet of Super Hero custom cars. The latest addition to the collection is the Justice League-inspired Kia Sorento!

So far there are seven character themed Kia vehicles that have been built. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg and Green Lantern. All of them have been created in support of “We Can Be Heroes”, DC Entertainment’s giving campaign to bring help and hope to the children, women and families affected by drought and famine in the Horn of Africa.
York Kia general manager Derek Meluzio witnessed both the Wonder Woman Kia Sportage and the Batman Kia Optima at a recent dealer meeting in Las Vegas.

"Seeing how cool those cars looked in their comic book themes was neat but knowing that Kia did all of it for a great cause is even nicer" said Meluzio.
